The following labs are interested in performing FREE genetic testing in order to facilitate the discovery of new ataxia genes or to further ongoing research. A blood sample can drawn at your doctor's office and mailed to the appropriate lab. Feel free to contact them or have your doctor contact them for more detailed instructions.

We are accepting DNA samples for Episodic ataxia which is acetazolamide (Diamox) responsive. Clearly we would like to know if there is a family history and if additional family members are willing to provide samples. The patients should have their neurologist send a consult note to me. This work has IRB approval (Ottawa General Hospital) and I would send consent forms.
